Villa Palmilla

My adult sisters and I recently had a fantastic stay at Villa Palmilla. The home is beautiful and well cared for. The views and property are fantastic. The staff were kind, helpful and attentive. We would definitely recommend it to others traveling to the area.

Cozy, impeccable home with the kindest caretakers one could imagine. Margherita and Jorge are wonderful people not to mention great chefs. We ate so well each day while anticipating the lovely evenings spent poolside (and Oceanside) with the perfect margarita. Three beautiful en-suite bedrooms made for restful nights.

We will be back.

Wow, we had an amazing week. The home was incredibly beautiful, and Jorge and Margarita were the best! The ocean views were spectacular and the amenities were great. Highly recommend.

Wonderful, elegant, tasteful villa for a few couples or a small family group.Well maintained, well designed, well appointed, classy place.Great views, great outdoor spaces and ocean views and access. Staff is fabulous, efficient, courteous and very helpful. Location has great access to Tulum area, Akumal area and Playa del Carmen areas all within 20-30km of villa with lots of activities, restaurants, secluded beaches, etc. The ONLY negative about this villa is that the beach is somewhat rocky and water can be a bit rough. For someone who wants wide beach of powder sand and calm water, this is not that. However, if you like to dive or snorkel right outside your villa, this is perfect. You can walk up the beach to the main Akumal beach in a few minutes. We did have an issue with TV access in the Master Bedroom, but I imagine that is repaired now. We didn't want to watch much TV anyway, and there were other working TVs in the villa. Wifi actually worked pretty well and cell service was adequate.

As a family of four with 2 adult children, we had the vacation of a lifetime. The Villa is beautiful, clean and the staff is excellent. The ocean view and pool makes up for the fact that the beach is rocky and the ocean hard to swim in. We drove into Akumal a few times for lunch but other than that we just enjoyed the beautiful Villa and lovely dinners made by Paedro. It was a totally relaxing week and just what we needed.

Excellent, except for abundance of seaweed.

This is my sixth stay at Villa Palmilla. To say that it is beautiful is an understatement. The mood is set the minute you walk through the gate into the courtyard. Opening the uniquely hinged front door, you find the sight of the ocean straight ahead. Everything in the house is carefully chosen. The house is immaculate and has everything you could need or want. Margarit keeps it spotless and Pedro maintains the outside perfectly. If you choose this villa, you will not be disappointed. We enjoyed many restaurants along the beach at Tulum, including La Zebra, Bistro at Ziggy Beach, and especially Arca, next to Hartwood and I found to be better, plus they take reservations for small parties.

The house is beautiful very well built and decorated. The house service is excelent and very friendly and go beyond in order to make you fell welcome and taken care. Great location with easy access and close to many attractions.

This was our fifth stay at Villa Palmilla. To say we love it is an understatement. From the minute you walk through the gate into the courtyard, you realize you are inn paradise. When you open the amazing front door, you immediately see the ocean. The home is beautiful, the staff is great, and the pool is inviting. This is the perfect place for your vacation. Be sure to check out La Zebra on the Tulum beach (right at the fork) and ask for Fernando for a great meal. Also enoyed the Bistro at Ziggy Beach (Tulum, right at fork) and Lo Ha in Alumal. Great sticky buns at Turtle Bay Bakery in Akumal. Good snorkeling in Akumal bay, at Casa Cenote, and Yal Kul lagoon.

A sublime villa with attentive but not intrusive staff.

Villa Palmilla is a beautiful villa. It is truly a pleasure the moment you walk through the gates and enter the courtyard and doesn't end. Everything is perfect---the decor, the staff, the location. Can't wait to get back next year. Have stayed at Villa Palmilla the past three summers.

My family and I have stayed in many villas in south, north, half-moon bay, ya-kul lagoon and right in Akumal near the dive shop and this was by far the nicest villa on all accounts! We loved it and will mkst certainly like to go back! I a specially liked the management team that worked at the house. Roger the property manager was very friendly and accommodating, Roger the grounds keeper and amazing cook! (our best meals were at the house the whole week) and Margarite was very sweet and kept the house beautifully spotless! The owners need to know what an amazing house they created esthetically and every detail is impeccable! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

I have stayed at several villas in the Akumal area and Villa Palmilla is definitely my favorite. Everything about it is first rate---from the interior, to the grounds, to the staff. Hope to come back soon.

Amazing house. I'd reserve it every year if possible.

When I rented Palmilla for my family's vacation, I had high expectations about the property because of price. When we arrive, however, it was really great that all of our expectations were significantly surpassed. The house is beautiful, the people from the property management company and the two people who took care of our house each day were excellent. We also had them cook some meals for us and it was better than any five star restaurant. Other than a few chilly days, we could not have picked a better place, a better staff or had a better time. No one will be disappointed.
